HISD Magnet School and Vanguard Programs
Magnet schools help children develop special talents while enhancing their learning capacities. Vanguard programs serve students who have been identified as potentially gifted or talented in intellectual ability, creativity, or leadership. The curriculum emphasizes higher-level thinking, problem solving, and creativity. Students may also study foreign languages, algebra, geometry, physics and chemistry. Vanguard placement requires testing.
