BELLAIRE
is an incorporated city within Houston with its own police and fire
departments. During the last decade many existing homes on large treed
lots have been torn down for the construction of two-story brick or
stucco traditional homes. Bellaire schools have an excellent reputation
and Bellaire High School boasts a higher percentage of National Merit
semifinalists than any other HISD high school. Bellaire straddles the
610 loop, providing easy access to the Texas Medical Center, the
Galleria, Greenway Plaza and downtown. Bellaire's little league team won the national championship in 2000.
